Welcome to The Whisker Room, Muskegon’s first cat cafe created from our love of all things coffee, cats, and a passion for equality. Our cozy and welcoming space invites everyone to sip coffee, snuggle with cats, and support individuals of all abilities. As an extension of The Arc of the Lakeshore, we are committed to creating opportunities for job training and job skill development for individuals with disabilities, and to providing a unique space for our whiskered friends to find their forever homes. By stopping in to boost your day with your favorite brew, you also help fuel our mission of creating a space of belonging and purpose.

Caffeine and cats? Can you think of a more purrfect pair? Whether you are a coffee lover, a cat enthusiast, or just looking for a new spot to unwind, we are the place for you! The Whisker Room is so much more than a spot for your typical coffee shop activities. Don’t get us wrong, we are a perfect place for reading, working, catching up, and feeding your coffee addictions, but by stopping in, you are contributing to a greater purpose. You’re helping foster a compassionate community that champions individuals of every ability and provides a safe haven for shelter animals. Come for the coffee, stay for the cuddles, and leave knowing you’ve made a difference.

The Arc of the Lakeshore is a nonprofit that empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing a range of services to support individuals and their loved ones. The Arc’s mission is to increase inclusion and equality to create a society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, is recognized, respected, and valued. The Whisker Room was designed as  a place where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are treated with dignity and provided with opportunities for meaningful employment. By fostering inclusivity, we can create a ripple effect of paw-sitive impact!
